SummaryThe National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) seeks a qualified attorney to fill a position in the Legal and Regulatory Affairs department. This position is responsible for developing and advancing NAB s policy goals with federal agencies, the Executive branch and federal and state courts. While the role spans the wide variety of policy issues that concern radio and television broadcasters, the Deputy General Counsel will focus on leading industry efforts on NextGen TV as well as on the wide array of spectrum matters implicating broadcasters. The position involves significant interaction with attorneys, engineers, government relations advocates and other staff at NAB, radio and television members and personnel at the FCC and other government agencies.Essential FunctionsWork with engineering and business teams to develop regulatory and policy positions.Draft memoranda, comments in regulatory proceedings and briefs.Interact with policymakers.Prepare and review advocacy materials.Analyze legislation.Plan and participate in industry events and programs.Address NAB member inquiries about legal issues.Other duties as assigned.Required Education and ExperienceJuris Doctorate and 8-10 years of related experience.Demonstrated legal writing and research skills.Strong writing and oral communication skills.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience in broadcast, wireless, satellite, cable, emerging technologies and/or appellate litigation.
