This position is classified as temporary but is considered long-term temporary and is expected to be an ongoing position. Temporary employees who work more than 30 hours per week are eligible for health insurance, retirement, and life insurance, but not other state benefits.

**Hiring Range: $20/hour**

Provides assistance to warehouse manager in organizing, shipping and receiving state medical cache for the North Dakota Department of Health**.** The position is responsible to track as well as unload merchandise as it is received at the warehouse and load it when it is being shipped. General knowledge of computers is necessary as these items are included in inventory and require maintenance. Activities in Microsoft include general knowledge of creating Word and Excel documents and using Outlook for email. Duties also include operating vehicles that require a CDL.

**Tasks involved in fulfilling the duty/responsibility:**

* Receive, check-in and place product into inventory.

* Process, pull and ship orders.

* Inputs into computer inventory control program.

* Inventory product(s) accurately and record results.

* Operate forklift, pallet jack, two-wheel cart and other warehouse equipment. Must get certification for operation of the DoH forklift within the first month of employment.

* Assist with maintenance and re-certification of equipment and vehicles

* Operate state-owned vehicles that require a CDL.

* Perform general warehouse upkeep and cleaning duties.

* Work independently and able to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

* Perform basic computer skills with MS Office products (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).

* Communicate courteously and professionally with other DoH employees, vendors, and customers.

* Other related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of warehouse or shipping or receiving clerk related experience. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required, as well as basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Experience with electronic inventory database systems. A current Class A commercial drivers license (CDL) is preferred. Forklift certification is preferred, but we will allow an uncertified employee to become trained and certified within the first month of employment. Employees must have good record-keeping skills and an attention to detail.

Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery. The work is physically demanding and requires lifting, bending or standing for long periods of time.
