The Department of Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology (SCA) is looking for a dynamic Student Office Worker to help engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader community around the Department's majors. The SCA Student Worker helps maintain the smooth functioning of the College's day-to-day operations, and works primarily in the campus SCA building. Job duties include:
* Applying general office skills such as typing, creation and maintenance of files, spreadsheet management, photocopying, and filing
* Assisting faculty members with various projects
* Coordinating programming events
* Tracking alumni
* Creating monthly newsletter
* Planning events
* Facilitating brainstorming sessions for Departmental changes
* Networking with local businesses, agencies, and practitioners
* Maintaining spaces in the SCA House
* Assisting with recruitment events
* Providing information about North Central College generally, and specific information about the Department's programs
* Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and community members
* Strong writing and editing skills
* Ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, at times without direct supervision
* Strong verbal communication skills
* Personal interest in the Department's disciplines and initiatives
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Sociology, Criminology, or Anthropology major/minor
Federal Work Study eligible
Will this position be working with minors? No Approximate number of work hours per week 4-6 (including event hours on specific evenings and weekends)
