Description

The Package Room Attendant is responsible for efficiently managing and coordinating incoming and outgoing packages in a residential or commercial building. They ensure the timely and accurate distribution of packages to the intended recipients while maintaining a secure and organized package room. The Package Room Attendant also assists residents or tenants with package inquiries and provides exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Receive and log incoming packages, ensuring accurate recording of package details such as recipient's name, date, and time of receipt.

+ Inspect packages for any damages or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate supervisor or department.

+ Organize and categorize packages in the package room or designated storage area.

+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized package room, ensuring proper storage and easy access to packages.

+ Monitor package room security, ensuring all packages are properly secured and unauthorized individuals are not granted access.

+ Collaborate with delivery personnel to ensure smooth package drop-off and pick-up operations.

+ Notify residents or tenants of package arrivals through various communication channels (e.g., email, phone calls, or designated notification system).

+ Assist residents or tenants in retrieving their packages promptly and accurately, verifying their identification and ensuring proper package handover.

+ Address resident or tenant inquiries related to packages, tracking numbers, and delivery statuses in a professional and customer-friendly manner.

+ Process outgoing packages and coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely pick-up and delivery.

+ Maintain accurate records of package inventory, tracking systems, and resident package preferences.

+ Proactively identify and address package delivery issues, such as misrouted packages or damaged items.

+ Stay updated on the building's policies and procedures related to package handling and security.

+ Collaborate with other building staff, such as concierge or front desk personnel, to ensure seamless coordination of package-related activities.

+ Assist with other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or training are a plus.

+ Prior experience in package handling, mailroom operations, or a similar role is preferred.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording package information.

+ Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to interact with residents or tenants in a professional and courteous manner.

+ Proficient computer skills, including experience with package tracking software or inventory management systems.

+ Basic knowledge of shipping carriers, their services, and relevant procedures.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.

+ Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy packages when required.

+ Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the building's requirements.
