As a mermaid, you will be responsible for entertaining our guests and interacting with children. Performing in character and seemlessly juggling water safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be able to read and follow directions.
- Possess self-accountability, listening skills, problem-solving skills, initiative, and proactive thinking skills.
- Possess a genuine smile with outgoing poise, charm, professionalism, and confidence while maintaining character.
- Enjoy working in crowds and noisy situations.
- Be fluent in English speaking and be able to read and follow both verbal and written directions in English.
- Be able to lead a full, high end, party with up to 20 children ages 3-10 by yourself while leading age-appropriate, interactive, ocean or mermaid themed games, ocean education, and improv conversation, swimming skills activities.
- Be able to project and be heard in a loud, articulate, voice in a very noisy, party, environment.
- Be readily accessible via phone (text) and email contact before an event.
PHYSICAL & WATER-SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Basic swimming abilities
- Be able to work in chlorinated water, in direct sunlight, and be able to physically touch or handle latex / rubber supplies.
- Be able to safely work in and out of water while wearing a costume up to 36 pounds in weight.
- Be able to play, run, jump, leap, stand, hop, and walk on land independently with breaks for up to 3 hours.
- Be able to swim in the water with breaks for up to 3 hours.
