Signal 88 has immediate job opportunities for a Weekend Security Officer that possesses a current and valid State of Maryland Security Guard License. This role is expected to work 25-40 hours per week between 1800-0400 Friday through Sunday. Main Responsibilities

A Weekend Security Officer protects the properties of our respected clients. The goal is to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and to create a safe environment for residents, employees, and property managers.

Duties include:

  • - Conduct foot patrols of courtyards, management offices, pools, and/or other corridors to ensure that the property is safe and free of any illegal or inappropriate activity.
  • - Monitor the property for suspicious activity which could include unauthorized vehicles, vehicles that have been broken into, trespassers or people loitering, trash and lighting issues, or other items that are not normal to that property.
  • - Check all doors to ensure employees locked up and set necessary alarms.
  • - All patrols and routing are conducted through our software. New Officers will be required to learn the software and use it in the appropriate manner to maintain efficiency and submit reports in real time.
  • - Conduct all duties with highest level of professionalism, tenacity, and a superior work ethic with a willingness to carry out orders and not take shortcuts.

The Ideal Candidate:

MUST HAVE:

  • High school diploma of equivalent
  • Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Personal Cell Phone
  • Personal and reliable transportation
  • Night and weekend availability
  • State of Maryland Security Guard License

Prefer to Have:

  • Military or Law Enforcement Background
  • 2+ Years Security Experience
  • Associates/Bachelors Degree
  • Skills Required
  • Ability to operate Smart Phone (Cell Phone) and Apps (Camera/Report Writing)
  • Ability to independently make decisions based on the available information
  • Ability to clearly and calmly communicate with individuals on the clients property
  • Ability to call and speak with On-Call maintenance workers to have them lock any open doors
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and drive a Patrol Vehicle
  • Ability to write reports using a Smart Phone
  • Active listening skills
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verification's, and Department of Motor Vehicle checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
