Summary:

The Lead Warehouse Associate is responsible for order pulling and preparation and assembly of furniture and other merchandise for deliveries. Included are inventory checks and administrative tasks, as well as assisting the manager, the delivery team, and newer warehouse associates as needed in multiple capacities.

Responsibilities:
  • Receive new merchandise and all inventory stored on correct racks per company standards
  • Conduct quarterly cycle counts on inventory and maintain clean results
  • Generate pick list and oversee merchandise pulled, opened, inspected and assembled prior to delivery
  • Complete thorough final stage audit before delivery
  • Act as a liaison for the warehouse with stores and home office
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner
  • Responsible for managing returns
  • Generate intercompany transfers
  • General maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse and equipment
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary
  • Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
  • In partnership with the Warehouse Manager establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficiencies
  • In partnership with the Warehouse Manager set warehouse and team goals and lead initiatives to encourage teamwork
  • Coach warehouse personnel on safety practices and keep up to date on all safety guidelines and regulations
  • Commitment to team achievement of high service levels through motivation and team support
Requirements
  • 3+ years warehouse experience
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills, examples include inspiring, leading by example, delegating, and motivating teammates
  • Must have lift truck operator, forklift, cherry picker, and other warehouse equipment experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
