Position Summary

At Klas Government we re looking for an exceptional individual to join our team and support our government contracts, subcontracts, and compliance efforts. This is a uniquely strategic role with a mix of both internal and external-facing responsibilities in an area of increasing importance and growth for Klas Government. The ideal candidate will evaluate contracts to ensure they align with federal regulations, agency policies, and customer requirements. Utilizing their in-depth knowledge of the FAR and DFARS to manage the government contracts process, including supporting our US Government business in contract acquisition and negotiations, they will serve as company expert on FAR, DFARS, GSA and other federal contract regulations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to internal and external customers, serving as the primary point of contact for questions regarding Federal Acquisition Regulations, legal requirements, and vendor systems.
  • Assess RFQs and RFPs for alignment with business capabilities. Review solicitation terms, interpret requirements and obligations, identify potential issues, and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
  • Schedule and participate in management review meetings with respect to proposals and contract obligations.
  • Review bids and proposals prior to submission, with careful consideration for compliance, accuracy, and adherence to specification.
  • Maintain relationships with US Government contract officers to foster mutual understanding of terms, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Monitor contract milestones, deliverables, and performance, ensuring compliance with obligations and internal controls.
  • Address any disputes, discrepancies, or issues that arise during the contract lifecycle, working to find equitable solutions for all parties involved.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract changes, status, modifications, and compliance.
  • Assist with any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Provide support in matters including strategy, negotiation, drafting, review, approvals, interpretation, proposal support, order entry, contract administration, and day to day program support (e.g., change requests) for contracts to ensure compliance with US Government Contracts Regulations.
  • Cross train team members and document processes so critical functions are always supported.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure change requests are appropriately managed and monitored, and flow-down requirements are communicated internally and to suppliers to ensure contract compliance.
  • Maintains a contract document management system, portfolio, backlog, and historical award information.
  • Assists proposal teams in analyzing complex customer solicitations/RFPs/RFQs, identifying business risk, and developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Assists proposal team with organization and record upkeep.
  • Other duties and special projects as may be requested.



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the administration of US Government and non-US Government contracts working with the FAR/DFAR, CFRs and relevant OMB Circulars, DPAS-ratings and other regulations is required.
  • Bachelor s or advanced degree in a related business field is strongly desired. A combination of years of related work experience in government contracts and education will be considered.
  • Experience with Time & Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost-Plus type of Government Contracts including Delivery based, Milestone based, and recurring services FFP contracts is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with DBA and SCA compliance and reporting requirements is helpful.
  • Excellent working knowledge of compliance regulations such as those found in the FAR, DFARS, and ITAR and their pertinence to contractual thresholds and mandatory flow-down requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adjust quickly and adapt to changing priorities and to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • May be required to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance along with verification of education requirements.
  • Experience using Salesforce and PIEE a must.
  • CPCM, CFCM, PMP, CAP, or similar certifications is preferred.
