The person for this role will have the creativity necessary to design bespoke spaces but the practicality to adhere to functional needs and logistical constraints. You re someone who enjoys project variety but is excited by the healthcare and sports/recreation market segments our team is moving toward.

As a smaller yet growing team, you will be someone that can work on tight deadlines, collaborate well with others, and take great pride in their client deliverables. This is an entry-level role with professional development and training support, but baseline proficiency in Revit is required. Travel within the state of Wisconsin on an as-needed basis is also to be expected. On any given day, you ll:

  • Create drawings, designs, and layouts complying with local, state, and federal codes/ordinances, and industry regulations for buildings.
  • Participate/collaborate with project teams to create designs and plans for all phases of project delivery
  • Coordinate architectural drawings with all trades related to building design.
  • Create design and construction documents and details using Revit for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Prepare presentation and design drawings and details.
  • Gather the necessary measurements, dimensions, and perform other routine calculations for design layouts.
  • Rework and modify designs based on comments and reviews from project managers, consultants, and clients.
  • Participate, along with Project Manager and/or Project Architect, in client meetings to discuss the design requirements for new construction, alterations, or renovations/repairs.
  • Ensure design specifications align with architectural project design.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's or bachelor s degree from an accredited Architectural or Engineering program (or similar accredited program)
  • 1-2 years of architectural project experience. (Project experience beyond 5 years may be considered an exception to educational degree requirement)
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Knowledge of architectural project processes related to coordination, workflow, project approvals, construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes.
  • A willingness to travel within Wisconsin on an as needed basis.
  • Valid driver s license with a good driving record.
Desired skills and experiences:
  • 3-D modeling proficiency including Lumion, SketchUp, V-Ray, Blender, 3DS Max, and Revit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of programs, Autodesk collaboration and coordination software, BIM360, and Bluebeam
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively as a team member.
  • Proven experience with a variety of building types and market sectors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, a client service focus.
  • Be active in civic and/or professional organizations.
  • Ability to foster an environment that lends itself to allowing staff to feel competent, supported, and driven toward career development.
