**What You'll Do:**

The Ohio Department of Healths Office of Human Resources - Operations Management is seeking a candidate to fill an Inventory Control Specialist 2 position. The encumbant of this position must have a thorough knowledge of inventory control to ensure the department's equipment and supply needs are met. Primary duties of this position include:

* the distribution and monitoring of statewide neonatal phenylketonuria (PKU) screen kits inventory and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) program materials on a technical computerized distribution system (e.g., IRMS)

* scheduling and placing orders, loading and unloading of food instruments, formula, newborn screening kits, literature, forms, licenses and supplies for statewide shipments and maintains computerized inventory of sam

* Periodically conducting physical inventory of literature and forms by hand, counting materials and entering results into IRMS

* operating a UPS shipping/mail system, pallet jack and forklift. May lift items weighing up to 75 pounds

**Qualifications**

18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Knowledge of inventory control; agency policies & procedures & state regulations on inventory control & salvage & surplus disposal*; electronic data processing as applied to inventory control computer systems; public relations; employee training & development*. Skill in operation of computer; typewriter; calculator. Ability to understand system of bookkeeping procedures; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; gather, collate & classify information; write instructions & specifications concerning inventory & salvage; check pairs of items that are similar or dissimilar; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public; lift 25-30 lbs.

Applications of those who meet the minimum qualifications will be further evaluated against the following criteria:

* Associates or advanced degree in business or public administration

* Experience monitoring and updating inventory of ODH warehouse materials.(e.g., PKU kits, literature, forms, medicine and test kits)

* Experience in receiving materials from delivery vendors (e.g., verifying item counts, item receipt condition) and following proper storage procedures

* Experience with generating processing and packaging orders from a warehouse management system

* Experience with inventory control applications (e.g., Excel, WASP, IRMS, or OAKS)

* Experience operating warehouse material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, powered and non-powered pallet jacks)

* Experience generating reports
