Smithbucklin , a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, is looking for aEducation Directorto join our Association Management Healthcare Clinical Administrative unit inChicago.The Education Director leads education strategy and is responsible for the overall delivery of education programs and related financial outcomes for the Neurocritical Care Society. This role works with volunteers and staff to develop an education strategy and leads the education team to implement and execute that strategy to ensure a comprehensive educational portfolio while delivering superior service levels.Key focus areas and activities for the Education Director role include:Education Strategy: responsible for development and implementation of education strategy for an assigned group of clients.Works with NCS Executive Director and volunteer leaders to define and clarify strategic education goals and key performance indicators for education (e.g., quality programming, program revenue generation, etc.).Leads education teams to develop and implement education strategies that are tailored and relevant to member and stakeholder needs, including ensuring marketing, events, sales, and IT teams have strategies and plans to support the delivery of education objectives.Works with Executive Directors and determines the financial metrics and desired education outcomes and tracks performance against budget, including developing education product business models.Continually works with cross-functional client teams to identify and introduce innovations that enhance outcomes, profitability, productivity, and efficiency.Appropriately champions innovative and new approaches in support of education strategy delivery.Education and Team Management: responsible for leading the education team to deliver on all aspects of education management and financial performance.Oversees project plans, defines roles and responsibilities for education team members and ensures regular project team meeting cadence.Determines appropriate engagement of education staff working with volunteer committees and the board of directors.Develops forecasts, manages, and tracks performance against client education budget; addresses and resolves issues related to financial performance.Ensures appropriate communications are in place, including the education schedule, project and budget status, key issues, and resolutions.Troubleshoots and drives course corrections to education strategies and execution plans.Leads post-education wrap-up process to assess education outcomes and debrief learnings with, as required, education teams, Executive Director, and volunteers.Directs activities to assure compliance with accreditation criteria, standards and policies to maintain to the standards of professional accreditation. Oversee development and maintenance of all necessary documentation, including policy and procedure manuals, to meet accreditation, funding, and other reporting requirements.Technical Competencies:Industry and position specific skillsEducation ManagementComprehensive knowledge of education design/modalities, eLearning, education assessment methodologies, event models, speaker engagement and management, as well as industry practices and dynamicsFamiliarity with the association environmentKnowledge and experience with leading practices in the education management space and orientation toward adopting new practices and implementing innovation for CE, non-CE, live meetings, and online/digital products.Data oriented experience defining key success metrics and driving toward those metrics as part of the overall Educations strategy; using data for decision makingFinancial and Program ManagementBudget management, including forecastingBasic Qualifications:4+ years of education management experienceAbility to travel up to 10%, possibly both domestic and international (travel may include weekends)Bachelor s degree in education, business, or equivalent healthcare field required; Master s degree preferredIn depth knowledge of continuing professional development standards in medical and nursing education.
