Job Description:
The American Red Cross requires all new hires be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This means that all individuals working for the organization must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the start of their employment OR have begun the vaccination process prior to their start date. Upon being offered a position, individuals will be required to submit proof of vaccination. If you are unable to be vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons, you may qualify for an exemption. If seeking an exemption, you will be required to submit documentation and your request must be approved prior to hire.
Performs basic receiving and shipping duties typically working out of a central warehouse using ARC practices and procedures. May assist with system wide electronic computer inventory management system data entry and reporting functions.
Responsibilities:
1. Inspect, verify and report discrepancies/damaged of materials and supplies against receiving documents. Store and stack materials to prescribed methods.
2. Fulfill daily customer orders, prepare transportation documents, deliver materials and supplies to end user and/or departments
3. Operate Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as electric pallet jacks and various forklift equipment.
4. May assist with systemwide electronic computer inventory management system data entry, reporting functions, and with electronic inventory reconciliation process.
Qualifications:
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience is required. Experience in a regulated environment required. Related experience includes knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
Skills/Abilities: Basic reading, writing, communication, math and computer skills required. Ability to work on a team.
* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs frequently; lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs. with assistance or the use of a powered industrial truck. Frequently required to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds on flat flooring or ramps. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb ladders or balance. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
