2024 Summer Internship - Community Relations


Job Details

The D.C. United Community Relations team is looking for talented undergraduate or graduate student aspiring to enter the sports industry to join us as an intern for the Summer of 2024. The D.C. United Community Relations Intern will learn how to work in a professional sports environment, improve technique and skills, and produce content for the organization. The opportunity will help fulfill an internship requisite as well as allow the individual to expand their portfolio for future job prospects. Ability to work on site is required to be considered for this position.

Summer Internship: May 28, 2024 - August 15, 2024

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):

  • Assist with the preparation and execution of Community Relations projects, programs/events, donations, and experiences.
  • Support planning, development and the execution of special events that support the D.C. United's community pillars: Empowerment, Opportunity, and Service.
  • You will play a role in supporting D.C. United's community engagement and volunteerism efforts with the front office, First Team, fans and community and corporate partners.
  • Cultivate relationships with nonprofit organizations, community groups and neighboring local owned businesses to understand the greatest needs and provide recommendations to the club to empower and uplift members of the community.
  • Collaborate across departments to amplify community programming, efforts and event execution.
  • Provide administrative support to Community Relations team and other duties as needed.
  • Maximum of twenty-five (25) office hours per week from May 2024 to August 2024

  • Good sense of humor.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be an active college or graduate student and have the ability to receive credit for the internship.

This internship is unpaid, any applicants must be able to receive college credit. There may be hourly paid opportunities for D.C. United related events.
