JOB DESCRIPTION
- Administering flu shots to patients.
- Drafting immunization programs for patients, schools, and clinics.
- Monitoring patients' reactions to vaccinations during the administration of shots.
- Implementing and adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
- Keeping patients calm and establishing trust.
- Providing advice and emotional support to patients.
- Complying with recordkeeping and reporting standards as set out by the CDC and the healthcare facility.
- Ensuring that flu vaccinations are stored correctly and securely.
- Maintaining the inventory of supplies needed to administer the shots.
QUALIFICATIONS - Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2-3 years in a clinical setting, preferably in ambulatory/clinic operations.
- BLS/ACLS
- Active unencumbered Virginia RN license
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: - Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Attends Nurses Association meetings.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
- Administration of injections
