POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Assistant will assist the Warehouse Manager in the receiving, inventorying, storage and distribution of material, tools, equipment and products which belong to Heartland Solutions and/or their customers in the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. This position will require the Warehouse Assistant to safely drive a box truck to pick up and deliver materials and equipment to job sites and other locations. They are also responsible for assuring that the warehouse and general office are kept clean and orderly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude that reflects Heartland Solutions' mission and standards
Comply with all company standards, policies and procedures
Lead others by example
Assist in the receiving and inventorying of material shipped to the Heartland Solutions facility
Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
Assist in the monitoring and flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control and entering the data in a timely manner
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according the HSC organization procedure
Prepare and stage material for crews to pick up for job sites
Assist in managing warehouse storage (storing items compactly and safely in the warehouse, complying with safety procedures)
Assist in organizing the warehouse and keeping it and the general office area tidy at all times (sweep, dust, mop, empty trash, etc.)
Keep the warehouse accessible and safe for all employee and customer traffic at all times
Operate forklift, box truck, and other equipment as needed
Assist in ensuring that all material, equipment, tools, etc. in the warehouse and outside storage yard are kept protected and secured at all times.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by upper management of the company (subject to all applicable federal and state laws)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work setting is generally within the warehouse and has some outdoor exposure throughout the work day.
Frequently will be working outside in conditions that include: inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
Intermittently working near moving mechanical parts when working in the field
Frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)
High school diploma or GED required
Must have basic mathematical skills
Preferred 1-3 years' experience driving a box truck for pick-ups & deliveries
Preferred 1+ years' experience performing inventory counting, and basic inventory record keeping
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Customer Service skills
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
Works well in a team environment
OTHER REQUIRMENTS:
Must be local or willing to relocate to this area
Must hold and maintain a valid unrestricted Chauffeur Driver's License and be insurable by Heartland Solutions' insurance provider
Willing to work long hours, weekends, non-structured schedule, etc.
