Description

This position is an instructional position with duties and responsibilities which are established in accordance with the State Board of Education Rules and Board of Trustees policies. This position reports to the Director, Workforce Development, Community Engagement and Testing and will be located at Key West, Marathon and/or Key Largo.

Examples of Duties

  1. Plans, organizes and instructs assigned courses to promote student success.
  2. Evaluates student learning and objective achievement and provides feedback.
  3. Selects appropriate materials and equipment for discipline or program use and ensures proper care and safety in their use.
  4. Adheres to and enforces the administrative policies and procedures of the College.
  5. Responsible for keeping current in the discipline or program area taught.
  6. Maintains good relationships with community agencies and groups and participates as appropriate.
  7. Promotes the College's recruitment and retention efforts when appropriate.
  8. Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Ability to deliver high quality instruction in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ability to commit to continued effort to stay current in program area.
  • Knowledge of College mission, policies, procedures, and services.
  • Strong student orientation and ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Proficient in the use of technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  • Ability to perform necessary math calculations.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to successfully complete NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP).
Education and Qualifications:
  • Four (4) years' experience in the electrical trade.
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)

Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
  • NCCER ICTP preferred.
Physical Skills:
  • Ability to be mobile and to present lectures and demonstrations.
Environmental Conditions:
  • Works inside an office environment as well as field work.
