Summary Spray Paints the heads of racked fasteners and matches paint for each order by using formulas and visual matching with color chips; bags, boxes and labels product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Reviews work orders and determines paint colors needed.

* Selects premade colors or mixes required portions of oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.

* Prepares paint guns and sprays fasteners with spray gun with an even coat of paint - spinning rack to ensure coverage on all sides of fastener head.

* Achieves reasonable production rates and goals.

* Loads painted fasteners on cart after completing painting.

* Moves carts in and out of oven when needed.

* Utilizes dumping machine to bag painted fasteners.

* Accurately affix bag and box labels on painted product.

* Cleans equipment in between colors.

* Tracks and maintains paint chips in organized manner.

* Assists in workflow in immediate paint area when needed.

* Follows 5S procedures to maintain cleanliness of paint booths and work area.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic Computer Skills are required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to see colors; Ability to make paint colors by mixing different colors and following formulas.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to frequently push/pull a cart with 6" casters that weighs up to 1100# and occasionally push/pull a cart with 6" casters that weighs up to 1800 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Respirator exams are given on an annual basis (or more often if necessary) and must be passed in order to perform this job.
