STV is actively seeking a Rail & Transit Mechanical Senior Engineer Subject Matter Expert for any of our Northeastern offices Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC or Fairfax, VA office as part of our Transportation and Infrastructure Division. You will need a proven expertise and a record of experience with rail, rubber tired public transportation vehicles in electromechanical systems, primarily HVAC Systems, but also include additional electromechanical systems such as door controls, train control and/or wheel rail interface. You should possess experience associated with HVAC system and component design, manufacturing, system design validation and qualification testing, gained ideally from a manufacturer of such systems applied to public transportation vehicles.

The Systems expert will oversee and review manufacturers coordination/integration the systems into the overall vehicle design on behalf of our public transit agency clients along with design related reports and may make recommendations for additional testing if required.

Additionally, the you will lead the interface integration activities for these systems which may include:

* Identify interfaces in the design testing and construction process.

* Lead the design review teams in client/builder meetings and assist the design groups as appropriate to resolve interfaces in a timely manner, consistent with the current level of design.

The Expert will be responsible for

* Establish and maintain a systematic, documented, comprehensive, and verifiable systems review and validation oversite process to be applied throughout the design and validation portions of fleet design projects.

* Deliver oversight of systems testing and systems acceptance testing.

* Provide systems start-up support, testing and commissioning of communications systems.

* Interaction with both clients and other STV engineering staff

Required Skills:

* Minimum 11 years of progressive experience in Transit system design, management and construction.

* Experience in Railroad train/vehicle HVAC Systems, with experience in other electro-mechanical systems a plus

* PE license is preferred

* Led large multidiscipline design projects and can perform field start-up, testing, and commissioning on active railroads and/or construction sites.

* Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, & interpersonal skills.

* Excellent organization and planning skills

* Self-motivated, must work well with others.

* Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Additional Skills:

* Prior experience with a public transit agency in systems and maintenance
