Gray Television's Washington News Bureau covers live breaking news, politics, and in-depth investigations for Gray TV's 113 television markets. Its regional team works closely with stations, covering issues directly impacting viewers in their markets. The national team reports on domestic and foreign issues affecting the entire country. It often travels with the President as he meets with world leaders overseas. InvestigateTV produces investigations for Gray TV and recently sparked new legislation on Capitol Hill. Local News Live is a 24/7 featuring stories from Gray TV stations.

Job Summary/Description:

Local News Live, Gray Television's 24/7 news network, is looking for a Content Producer to oversee day-to-day and long-term planning for LNL's live, daily newscasts and special projects. This position requires monitoring and securing content from Gray's markets nationwide while maintaining critical relationships with local stations. The Content Producer will also be responsible for running point on booking Gray talent and guests for a range of segments airing on LNL. The ideal candidate will have line-producing experience, a strong editorial mindset to accomplish the channel's brand and be highly-organized.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Take lead on booking guests and Gray talent for LNL's live, daily productions including newscasts, segments, and breaking news.
Produce segments for LNL's live newscasts and productions.
Establish and maintain relationships with Gray's local newsrooms, newsmakers, and guests.
Research prospective guests and provide producers and anchors elements for segments by pre-interviewing guests, gathering elements for a successful on-air segment.
Prepare background information for anchors and producers on topics and guests.
Maintain a calendar of news events and studio schedule.
Work with local station liaisons to gather content from Gray's newsrooms nationwide.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
Excellent organizational and time management skills required
Minimum two years of experience involved in live, newscast productions
Must exhibit an understanding of broadcast, digital, and social platforms in a local and national news context
Must be a self-motivator who demonstrates good news judgment and decision-making
Maintain a positive attitude and work environment
