**Job Overview**

The Daimler Trucks North America Procurement Department (TT/G4) is a fast paced, high energy team responsible for Strategic Sourcing decisions and supporting the optimization of supplier performance on the basis of cost, quality and delivery. **Responsibilities**

* Take the lead on managing commodities to develop and execute strategic direction for sourcing of Exterior Plastics and Thermoform commodities (>$100 Million in annual buy)

* Award new parts to suppliers to meet timelines, analyzing total business case including price, logistics, quality, delivery and strategic direction for the commodities

* Negotiate on-going commercial agreements with suppliers to drive overall cost savings and long-term cost stability

* Manage raw material agreements with suppliers

* Resolve commercial operational issues in a timely manner with suppliers including pricing and contractual terms

* Support Make or Buy studies

* Support cross functional team members for supplier sourcing topics

* Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership

* Develop and maintain good networking relationships (both internal and external)

* Align strategy and opportunities with similar Purchasing Agents (Interior Plastics, Composites, Upholstery)

* Support resin raw material expert with analysis and market insight of the resin pricing trends and forecasts

**Qualifications**

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)**

* Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of relevant experience or 7 years relevant experience in lieu of degree

* Ability to analyze, organize and summarize large amounts of data into simple or key terms

* Advanced MS Excel knowledge and MS PowerPoint

* Demonstrated analytical skills

* Previous experience working with suppliers

* Demonstrated negotiation skills

* Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management

* Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines

* Proactive, driven, self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

* An attached resume is required

**Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)**

* Degree focus in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred

* Previous experience with Daimler Procurement systems and processes

* Previous automotive experience
