Join our team as a Reasonable Accommodation Support Specialist I and play a crucial role in providing essential communication and physical support to Department of State personnel within the Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division. Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Reasonable Accommodation Support Specialist I: $123,126.79

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Reasonable Accommodation Support Specialist I Responsibilities Include:

Provide essential communication and physical support to Department of State personnel for the Disability and Reasonable Accommodations Division (DRAD) located within the Office of Accessibility and Accommodations (OAA).

Provide effective audio description or sight translations, enunciating clearly, accurately, and concisely while matching the necessary output register (formal/informal).

Provide accurate notetaking during events (workshops, meetings, briefings), effectively summarizing or transcribing audio and visual information.

Transcribe non-accessible written materials into electronic documents.

Provide tailored access through visual description, orientation, and mobility support to ensure equal employment benefits for individuals with disabilities.

Facilitate orientation and assisted mobility for functions.

Assist employees with various needs during events and trainings.

Handwrite or ensure legibility of written materials.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Reasonable Accommodation Support Specialist I Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or relevant experience providing reasonable accommodations.
  • Command of English Language across multiple registers.
  • Strong technical command of Microsoft Applications.
  • Travel overseas may be required for an extended period
  • Active Passport Required
  • Ability to work autonomously and tailor services professionally.
  • As required by our governmental client, US Citizenship is required. This position requires the ability to obtain or/ an active Top Secret clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
