Job Details

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to lead our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. They will play a key role in driving financial strategy and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
  2. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  3. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  4. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
  5. Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
  6. Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making and drive business growth.
  7. Monitor and evaluate internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
  8. Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and implementing best practices.
  9. Mentor and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and maximize team performance.
  10. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, to support organizational goals and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and developing a high-performing team.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
