Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Development Manager - Direct Response Programs.

In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Director, Direct Response Programs to manage the creation and production of fundraising campaigns for NYU Langone Healths Direct Response Programs. This includes direct response fundraising to a variety of audiences including grateful patients, base donors, and NYU School of Medicine Alumni.
This individual will serve as the lead project manager for all direct response campaigns, partnering across the Development department and with external vendors as needed. The individual will actively participate in campaign planning sessions, and will be responsible for the execution of the final strategies in the form of multichannel, direct mail or digital fundraising efforts.
The ideal applicant is organized, diligent and forward-thinking ensuring that all details are addressed and everything runs as smoothly as possible. A successful candidate will possess a keen understanding and comfort level with both the creative and data requirements needed for a successful direct response program.

Job Responsibilities:

Campaign Management
  • Working closely with the Director, internal departmental teams, and any external vendors, help build
    and execute an integrated multi-channel annual communications schedule for donors and patient prospects.

  • Coordinate with the Director, creative, and editorial to identify campaign story topics from a variety of audiences (i.e. patients, doctors, students, alumni) __ and manage the asset collection and fact-checking process.

  • Oversee the preparation of all Direct Response offline and online campaigns materials based on defined project scope, production schedule, and overall program strategy.

  • Serve as the team s liaison to ensure Direct Response messaging, content, email, and mail communications coincide with overall departmental messaging strategy and organizational branding.

  • Manage the approval process and flow for all campaign copy & creative. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure all content is vetted, reviewed, and approved in advance of production deadlines.

  • Coordinate key internal teams (Development Administration, Gift Processing, General Counsel, etc.)
    to ensure Direct Response campaigns follow all organizational mandates and legal requirements.

Campaign Production Management
  • Ensure campaign production specifications are correct and fulfilled during the production process.
  • Support the Director in developing mail and email segmentation strategies. Oversee all mail & email data files and other report exports to support direct response solicitations and results analysis.
  • Manage all Direct Response campaign data pull within Blackbaud CRM.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process (i.e. print proofs, press checks, mail-shop personalization and insertion, email review & testing, etc.) __ to ensure accuracy at each step.
  • Support the reconciliation of campaign expenses against budget estimates and actual quantities.
  • Support campaign performance reporting and analytics as needed, with an eye towards identifying testing opportunities for future campaigns.
  • Evaluate existing Direct Response workflows and processes. Update existing or create new documentation as needed, and disseminate as needed for total consensus across the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree required, with5-7+ years of experience in a university/medical center/healthcare/non-profit or comparable corporate setting.
High degree of computer literacy required, specifically knowledge of MS Office package, including Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel and Advance.Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
Superb communicator in both writing and speech, with major phone and in-person communications skills.
Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
Possesses: intellectual curiosity, kindness, integrity, and a sense of humor, even and especially in times of stress.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team .
Adaptability and openness to criticism.
Sense of urgency in completing projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Driven self-starter, with an entrepreneurial mindset
Demonstrated understanding of grateful patient or healthcare fundraising program
In-depth understanding of direct response campaign creative development process
Understanding of data business requirements and best practices needed for direct response campaign execution
Prior experience with direct response production and vendor management
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Blackbaud CRM, a plus
1 year of management experience preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $98,711.75 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
