Description
The SEE (Summer Explorations & Experiences) Enrichment Specialist provides enrichment activities for Winston Salem Forsyth County School's Summer Explorations and Experiences Camps for children K-5th grades. Instruction and activities include Arts/Crafts, Coordinated Approach To Child Health (CATCH), STEM, SEL, and Youth Sports. The school assignments will be given upon hire.
WS/FCS SEE Program will run Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm from June 24, 2024- July 18,2024.
Initial training date to be determined and attendance is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead enrichment activities listed in the position summary.
- Lead a group of 15+ Students
- Attend training sessions to increase competency in working with students
- Document, track, and maintain daily progress and academic records of assigned students. Provide feedback regarding students' progress as well as behavior.
- Acknowledge student efforts, accomplishments, and progress.
- Assist students in developing self-confidence, raising self-concept, and reducing anxiety or fear of failure in academic work.
- Work with students to develop a high level of motivation in academic areas and positive attitudes toward learning and studying.
- Serve as a role model for students being served.
- Adhere to all processes, procedures, rules, and regulations of the YMCA program, and School District.
- Required to Participate in Aquatics Activities (Including Swimming, or Deck Supervision)
- Have fun and keep students engaged.
Training is paid at minimum wage. Non-instructional work may be paid at Program Counselor rate.

Qualifications- Experience working with Arts/Crafts, Sports, Physical Activity Programs, SEL Programs.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Experience working with a diverse community.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications Preferred ( or within 30 days of hire).
