Position Overview:

As the corporate Logistics Consultant, you will report to the Sr. Inbound Logistics Manager and have the lead in supporting programs and logistics initiatives impacting Navistars truck, bus, and powerplant production facilities. You will be part of the logistics team that is responsible for defining and executing strategies for Navistars inbound logistics, while providing excellent operations support to multiple business units.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Navistar Production & Logistics goals and objectives through individual and team activities.



Responsibilities:
  • Building and maintaining relationships across multiple functions, including logistics, supply chain, direct procurement, third-party logistics providers (3PL), and plant personnel
  • Applying transportation experience and analytical tools to provide accurate deliverables in accordance with established timelines
  • Liaising with engineering, procurement/purchasing, tooling, and other non-transportation professionals to provide actionable feedback for any initiative with transportation equities
  • Serving as Inbound Logistics representative on new program cross-functional teams
  • Participating in supplier readiness reviews, training, and occasionally on-site visits to ensure new and existing suppliers comply with Navistar shipping guidance
  • Cross-training within the Logistics team to provide support to other roles as required


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 5 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience

OR

  • Masters degree
  • At least 3 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience

OR

  • At least 7 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience


Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)


Desired Skills:
  • Familiarization with a manufacturing environment and lean tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency conducting transportation cost-benefit analyses and logistics studies
  • Experience in commercial transportation industry (domestic US/CAN/MX and global); prior work with a global freight forwarder a plus
  • Team and cross-functional experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel abroad
