Legal Analyst with IT Asset Management Experience

My name is Bill Stevens and I have a new six month plus hybrid Legal Analyst with IT Asset Management opportunity available for a major firm located in Holmdel, New Jersey and Midtown, Manhattan that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below. The work schedule will be a hybrid one, three days a week in the office and two days remote in either of the firms offices.

The ideal candidate should also possess a green card or be of citizenship. No Visa entanglements.

This position pays $50.00 per hour on a w-2 hourly basis or $55.00 per hour on a Corp basis. The Corp rate is for independent contractors only and not third-party firms.

The position will be focused on being responsible for all the software asset management operations which includes but not limited to managing day to day software operations and inquiries, maintaining accurate inventory of software licenses, ability to understand software license usage rights, conducting internal software license compliance reviews, and creating metrics-based reports for management review.

Responsibilities:
Manage the software asset management operations which entails managing the software requests and deployment process, software operations, software license compliance for all environments (one premise, SaaS, etc.)
Utilize Software Asset Management Tool such as USU license Manager (Aspera) to maintain accuracy of software deployments and facilitate compliance across the organizations software portfolio.
Responsible for managing software licensing, handling software renewals upgrade release, key refresh schedules and information relating to software changes.
Manage all software asset management supporting tickets/requests related to licensing questions and concerns.
Ensure compliance the firms IT Asset Management Policy
Responsible for internal pro active license reviews of software and SaaS / perform self-audits
Independently deliver Software License Compliance reviews for the firms third-party software and SaaS providers.
Efficiently identify and resolve licensing-related issues for internal team members.
Work closely with subject matter experts, including asset owners, system architects, system administrators, project and program managers, and engineers to obtain critical information required for the management assets.
Become familiar with the firms contract landscape and assist with managing and tracking software assets, analyzing vendor spend, proposing contract save opportunities, identify risk areas and manage supplier audits.
Experience in taking a lead role in an external vendor audit, including: serving as single point of contact, clear communications with vendors compliance team, interactions with the firms legal team as required prior to replying to vendor inquiries, consolidation of all existing deployments and entitlements, organizing the various teams to ensure comprehensive responses, ability to read and completely understand existing licensing terms to understand entitlements vs deployments, and ability to negotiate with the vendor.
Experience in working with large software companies including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, EMC, Tibco, Pivotal, McAfee, Adobe, HP, etc.
Directly interfacing with vendors and internal business partners, such as Technology, Sourcing & Contracting, Vendor Management, and Legal
Demonstrating strong organizational skills, possess the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and be able to set and manage priorities.
Working collaboratively with other members of the IT Asset Management team to continue to mature the asset management program.

Functional Skills:
Demonstrable understanding of the software asset management process and understanding of software and SaaS license terms and contracts.
Working experience with software asset management tools such as USU/Snow/Flexera/ServiceNow SAM Pro.
Experience in managing IBM's Passport Advantage, IBM ILMT, Adobe, TIBCO, Microfocus, and Microsoft's SA Benefits websites.
Demonstrate strong contract review in interpreting license usage terms in software agreements whether it be perpetual, on-premises, SAAS, hosting, subscriptions, subsidiaries and outsourced partners etc.
Must have strong ability in creating reports from the environment including hardware and software landscape. Must be able to demonstrate and present software asset management positions to stakeholders regarding opportunities and risks.
Ability to explain licensing terms to internal business partners to ensure they are compliant with contracts and do not over deploy. Help to develop processes and tracking mechanisms to measure and report on compliance.
Consistently monitor and validate data regularly to report on compliance issues. Collaborate with the ITAM team members to develop processes if they do not exist for specific vendors to ensure compliance.
Excellent computer skills along with presentation creation ability (PowerPoint and Excel)

Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in IT, Legal, or Business.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Software Asset Management.
IAITAM software asset management certification i.e., CSAM, CITAM, or CAMSE is preferred but not required.
