Patient Education Coordinator - Patient Education Clinical Requisition ID 2024-48500 Category Nursing Overview Day Shift-Hours between (8:00am-5:00pm). Days of week are flexible. 16 hours per week available (0.4 FTE). No evening or weekend requirement. Position starts at $34.00 an hour. Pay to commensurate with experience. Edits and coordinates communications, implements and evaluates clinical and technical patient education materials in collaboration with clinical and administrative experts. Increases confidence and competence of patients and families to prevent and manage pediatric diseases and conditions through provision of health literate materials. Responsibilities * Assesses, edits, and evaluates clinical and technical patient education materials consistent with the strategic priorities and developments in healthcare. * Participates in the development of an annual patient education plan that is consistent with the strategic priorities, seeks recommendations from related areas. * Develops, coordinates, and evaluates the activities and technical clinical materials of the patient education program, may Edits patient education materials to meet health literacy standards s, and coordinates the systematic review technical of education materials. * Assures the patient education program meets health literacy standards in line with policies and procedures. Gathers and reports data related to patient education and quality. * Serves as a health literacy consultant or expert to health care providers in designing, implementing, and evaluating their programs and materials. * Evaluates materials for educational merit and appropriateness for patients and families based on several factors and general presentation. * Pursues external funding through external contracts, grants, and other sources to support patient education programs. Qualifications Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree preferred. Skills: * Knowledge of health education principles and clear health communication, required. * Demonstrated project management skills with analytical and technological ability necessary to make recommendations concerning patient education. * Demonstrated evidence of group process skills with evidence of ability to relate effectively to people. * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, inclu
