JOB DESCRIPTION: Seasonal Retail Inventory Control Team MemberSeasonal OverviewPart-time seasonal positions are available at the Memphis Zoo. We are seeking friendly, customer service individuals who will be responsible for providing prompt and courteous service to our guests. They will also be responsible for the daily operation of our inventory preparation and organization. Start dates for these positions are typically late February/early March and end dates range from July through October. Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, and Holidays. May provide up to 29 hours per week.Essential Functions1. Responsible for receiving and adhering to all incoming shipment procedures. This includes counting, ticketing and distribution of receipts.2. Responsible for the organization, cleanliness, and security of the receiving area and all stockrooms.3. Assist with inventory control, including counting inventory, reporting discrepancies to the Retail Operations Supervisor, and participate in the annual physical inventory preparation.4. Assist in determining stock needs on the selling floor and support the selling staff by replenishing stock on the selling floor, and at other retail locations.5. Reticket merchandise as needed.6. Keep stock rooms clean, neat and organized. Ensure that the inventory is priced and organized in a way that is easily reached. Employees should be knowledgeable of stock locations of each SKU.7. Interacts with guests. Ensures that each guest has an outstanding customer service experience. This may include resolving issues or addressing complaints, but always responds in a guest friendly manner.8. Relieves other employees for breaks.Competencies1. Ability to lift 50 Lbs. or moreSupervisory Responsibilities: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.Reporting Structure: This position reports to both the Retail Operations Supervisor and the Manager of Retail.Work EnvironmentThis role will interact with large groups in a retail environment and on zoo grounds near animal ambassadors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to the outside weather conditions, wet/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles andvibration. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately loud.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls: and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. High School GED or Diploma2. 1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.3.
