The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub San Francisco (CZ Biohub SF) ( is an independent nonprofit research institute that brings together three powerhouse universities - Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UC San Francisco - into a single collaborative technology and discovery engine. The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an outstanding Research Associate for the DeRisi Lab to join our exceptional, motivated, and highly collaborative Infectious Disease team. The ideal candidate will work with lead researchers on a variety of molecular biology projects.

Recent BS/MS graduates seeking research experience before graduate or medical school application are encouraged to apply.

You will

* Handle BSL-2 agents

* Receive samples from collaborating laboratories and hospitals

* Prepare single cell suspensions from fresh samples

* Use FACS to sort desired populations of cells

* Prepare DNA and subsequent libraries for Illumina sequencing

You have

Essential -

* BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline

* 1 year of wet lab skills

* Must have experience with DNA/RNA handling and purification

* Basic cell culture knowledge

* Great attention to detail, resourceful, and highly organized

* Must be highly collaborative, team-oriented, and an effective communicator

Nice to have -

* NGS library preparation, sequencing, analysis is highly desired

Compensation

* Research Associate I = $52,000 - $77,000

* Research Associate II = $67,000 - $99,000
