Strategic Warehouse Operations Manager

Tracking Code 12390-159 Job Description **Mission:**

Manage 3PL warehouse vendor operations in 800,000 square foot warehouse with 100+ employees and 24/7 cadence at Monroe, LA converting plant. Receive and store $300 million of raw materials (paperboard, corrugate, etc.) and finished goods. Oversee robotic supply of paperboard from warehouse to plant and finished goods transfer to warehouse. Ensure timely execution of outbound shipments of $350 million of cartons to customers in JIT supply chain, with average shipments of 60 to 80 daily and peak levels of 100. Enforce inventory management policies and audits to minimize inventory loss and recover timely as appropriate from 3PL vendor. Coordinate closely with plant manufacturing, customer service, transportation, and supply chain teams to meet customer expectations at minimal cost. Ensure that warehouse staff utilizes safe practices. Collaborate with other GPI teams and suppliers to develop/execute process improvements for service and cost.

**How you will support GPI:**

Shipment Execution

* Serve as primary warehouse contact and liaison with manufacturing plant.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to establish the daily shipment plan to maximize output

* Ensure warehouse vendor has labor/equipment to support shipments

* Prioritize shipments based on product availability & customer service input

* Communicate plan daily to stakeholders (warehouse, plant, customer service, transportation, SC)

* Translate better clarity of plan and execution into service improvements (OTIF 100 basis points) and transportation cost ($250k)

Inventory Accuracy

* Establish and enforce inventory management process and policies with warehouse vendor

* Monitor inventory transactions to ensure same day updates and accuracy

* Oversee raw material inspection and claims management processes

* Oversee monthly true-up between vendor, business, and file claims timely

* Reduce net inventory loss (claim minus payment) by $250k

Performance Management

* Measure and track KPIs for warehouse operations

* Review progress regularly and drive improvements

* Escalate to vendor and GPI senior managers as needed

**Background / Experience:**

* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration or related degree

* 10 years of warehouse and distribution experience

* Experience managing organizations of 100+, 24/7 operations

* Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean management principles, Sig Sigma certification is a plus

* Experience with SAP preferred, or similar warehouse management system

**Position Requirements:**

* Working knowledge of warehouse management systems with a preferred emphasis on SAP

* Ability to manage contractors including warehouse contractor and other logistics suppliers

* Capable of implementing and reinforcing warehouse best practices, for safety and operation efficiency

* Knowledge of warehouse handling equipment with a familiarity with auto guided vehicles(AGVs), robotics and autonomous material handling

* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
