About the Opportunity

The primary responsibility of a Social Skills Group (SSG) Co-Facilitator is to support Social Skills Group facilitators with the implementation of consistent evidence-based mental health services and Applied Behavioral Analysis programs to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in response to the recommendations of the Social Skills Group Facilitator within telehealth and clinic settings.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports Social Skills Group Facilitators with the implementation of an evidence-based clinical curriculum for the social skill group participants that is appropriate to client goals, chronological age, functional age, and interests.
  • Conducts 100% of scheduled sessions unless time-off has been granted or the parents or the group has been canceled by the Social Skills Group Facilitator.
  • Responsible for conducting substitute sessions for other Social Skills Groups to sustain the productivity margin if a session is canceled by the facilitator. Subbing sessions will fall within the employee's availability.
  • Responsible for coordinating the Social Skills Group Facilitator to provide make-up sessions when groups are canceled.
  • Additional hours or sessions may be assigned by the Social Skills Group Facilitator or Director of Groups for in-home sessions or additional SSG facilitation.
  • Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Support Plans in response to the direction provided by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Leader/Clinical Leader and/or other clinical staff in order to improve the behavior and skill acquisition of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Travels to home, clinic and other community settings, as required, to deliver services.
  • Renders completed sessions daily and writes thorough notes per CSD's cancellation policy when changes occur.
  • Communicates schedule changes and cancellations to clinical team immediately.
  • Participates in regular meetings with the Social Skills Group Facilitator regarding lesson planning and training.
  • Promptly communicates with Clinical Teams and Facilitators via email and phone, regarding Treatment Plans and Behavioral Support Plans, family concern
  • Fulfills the timely completion of necessary clinical documentation and communication of:
  • Daily Treatment Session Notes
  • Daily Treatment Target Data
  • Daily (If applicable) Behavior Data
  • Monthly Session Plans
  • Ensures parent participation during sessions as deemed necessary by the SSG Facilitator or Clinical Leader and Clinical Director and per the Treatment Plan. Under the supervision of the SSG Facilitator and SSG Clinical Directors, provides parents with tools and materials to ensure the generalization of skills and the modification of challenging behavior
  • Assist with CR modifications and short and long-term scheduling plans as needed.
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements

About You

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledgeable of methodologies found to benefit children with autism spectrum disorders, including Applied Behavioral Analysis ("ABA"), Early Start Denver Model ("ESDM"), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children ("TEACCH"), Picture Exchange Communication System ("PECS"), and Pivotal Response Training ("PRT"). Knowledge of SSG Curriculums such as PEERS, Social Thinking, etc.
  • Six months of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Experience with running social skills groups.
  • Paraprofessional in good standing and in compliance with the RBT, BTL1 or BCAT certifications.
  • Knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children.
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Able to travel to and work in multiple program service areas; reliable transportation needed (proof of valid driver license, current auto insurance identification card, and acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required).
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; bilingual ability preferred.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
Physical requirements may include but is not limited to:
  • Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work
  • Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair
  • Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening
  • Constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing
  • Frequent typing, use of computer
  • Occasional walking around building
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car
