Group Fitness Instructor


Murano is currently searching for a Group Fitness Instructor who is familiar with group fitness program development, planning and instruction of group fitness classes/activities including aquatic group fitness classes.

Compensation


The base salary range for this position is between $23 - $30 per hour and will vary based on skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future salary and career growth. New hires generally start between $23 - $25 per hour.


Our Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for:


Services Development:


Responsible for developing plans for group fitness classes.


Responsible for adhering to monthly-budgeted income goals.


Compiles input from residents to tailor group fitness classes for the community.


Successfully advertises PrimeFit Group Fitness classes to residents, families and the community through promotional programs and special events.


Creates a positive, fun and safe atmosphere that promotes social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical growth for older adults.


Risk Management:


Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with state/provincial regulations as they apply to older adult health and fitness and this job description.


Obtains First Aid and CPR certification and maintains annually.


Obtains and maintains Group Fitness Certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).


Customer Service:


Interacts in a positive, empathetic manner with older adults, their families, referral sources, and the community at large. Identifies and responds to the residents needs in an appropriate manner.


Demonstrates a basic understanding of the retirement housing industry.


If you are someone who:


Group Fitness Certification and training through the ACE or obtains this requirement within the first three (3) months of hire.


Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of:


o Group fitness programming for older adults.


o Teaching and leadership.


o Injury/fall prevention, first aid and emergency procedures.


o Ethics and professional standards.


Displays excellent customer service and communication skills.


Always maintains a professional demeanor.


Works both independently and collaboratively.


Demonstrates a warm, engaging, and patient manner.

Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, residents.

Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to reach above his/her head and perform repetitive movements on feet over long distances.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to transfer up to 50 pounds
