Job Description

The Warehouse Technician reports to the Assistant Director of College Construction and Maintenance and has main campus responsibility for shipping and receiving, managing all warehouse storage space, dispensing construction equipment, and coordinating purchase orders for business office accounts payable. The warehouse technician will serve as a backup for Maintenance Department office manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Commercial driver's license is preferred.
  2. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Must have verbal good communication skills to correspond with vendors and college employees regarding schedules, delivery details, delays, etc.
  4. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, work from ladders, continuously walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, and squat, perform high work requiring stretching and reaching above head and shoulders.
  5. Overhead work is required involving ladders and lifts.
  6. Required forklift operator, certification preferred.
  7. Previous warehouse management experience preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Keep a daily log and delivery manifest of the shipments received per day.
  2. Package and prepare items for shipment, coordinate labeling and pick up.
  3. Verifies accuracy of orders received against packing list; ensuring receipt of correct quantities and condition of materials.
  4. Coordinate purchase orders, received shipments and payment release with receiving dock, consignees and business office.
  5. Assist in loading and unloading shipments for delivery and receipt. Assist in large deliveries around campus.
  6. Maintain organized inventory of stock items.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work space in all warehouses.
  8. Maintains a safe work environment.
  9. Dispense construction and maintenance equipment that is stored in warehouse.
  10. Act as back-up for Maintenance Department office manager for radio dispatch and work order distribution.
  11. Other duties as assigned by Director/ Assistant Director of College Construction and Maintenance.
