Tax Compliance Associate

Job Description:

The Tax Compliance Associate will actively manage the legal entity compliance and jurisdictional business license processes. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills to contribute to a key role within our accounting team. The position reports directly to the Tax and Compliance Manager and will be the main team member responsible for various tasks involving jurisdictional requirements and compliance.

Responsibilities

* Track and monitor requirements for business license compliance and renewal

* Complete legal entity compliance with jurisdictional requirements such as preparation of Business, Professional, and Occupational Licenses, Annual Reports, Resale Certificate validation, etc.

* Prepare filings for Business Tangible Personal Property tax for multiple jurisdictions and any other state and local tax compliance as necessary

* Manage and update the registered agent portal

* Maintain the tax calendar, return payment schedule, and tax certificate portal

* Track and monitor tax and other related legal notices

* New vendor verification and setup within the ERP

* Collaborate with internal and external business partners to gather information as needed

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience

* 1+ years of accounting or office administration experience

* Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, anticipate resource needs, and meet deadlines

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Construction firm, real estate, or development experience a plus

* Experience with JD Edwards or another comparable ERP solution a plus

* Superior judgement and critical thinking skills. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work in constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
