Job Details

The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the facility is managed in a manner that contributes to the achievement of objectives established through annual operating plans and revenue. The General Manager provides strong and effective day-to-day leadership and management fostering an environment that encourages contribution by all employees to overall company objectives, making sound decisions on behalf and in the best interest of iFLY and its team members. The GM will work closely with Senior Management to ensure strategic business objectives are achieved.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The General Manager takes direction from top executives and understands the executives' overall plan for the company. The General Manager makes suggestions that enhance or streamline operations, directs other people to achieve their goals, communicates the objectives and vision of the company to the staff and is an example of leadership. The General Manager must be able to delegate responsibility, must organize divisions so that the team members know exactly what role each has to play, and supervise that it is being done to the best of their ability.

The General Manager recruits, hires and trains team members and resolves team member concerns/issues. Supervision includes Customer Service, Call Center and Instructor staff, building facility, network infrastructure, staff communications and development as well as ensuring Marketing and Sales campaigns are communicated to the customer service and call center team. The General Manager has a pulse on sales data, costs, performance indicators, safety, team member morale and world-class customer service. The General Manager provides support and leadership to all tunnel team members. The General Manager will ensure public relations and all sales are handled in a courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities-Include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all daily operations
  • Supervises customer service staff, call center, instructors and management team
  • Manages daily flight and staff schedules
  • Monitors flight manifest to ensure maximum occupancy
  • Ultimately responsible for interviewing, hiring and proper training of team members
  • Responsible for team member reviews, recognition and disciplinary actions
  • Responsible for inventory control and ordering of merchandise and supplies
  • Ensures safety of operations and team members
  • Manages and maintains daily reporting
  • Prepares payroll and timekeeping reports
  • Checks POS close outs and cash drops
  • Manages budgets, profitability and Profit & Loss margins
  • Controls operational expenses
  • Improves profit margins where possible
  • Ensures that facility is clean inside and outside
  • Involved in proactive incentive programs, reward schemes and team building events
  • Works with Sales Manager on statistics and success of sales promotions
  • Assists in short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies and helps evaluate effectiveness
  • Implements sales promotions and initiatives
  • Sets up product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential
  • Researches, evaluates and recommends enhancements to constantly improve the customer experience
  • As needed, participation in marketing related photography, video, and social content capture for promotional usage.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years (plus) experience in management, including strong program marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated strong team leadership and development ability.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database management, content management systems and desktop publishing applications are essential. Project management and multi-tasking skills are a must.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as creative writing and negotiation skills. Experience in generating presentations and proposals.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Recreation, Facility Management or a combination of experience and education a plus.
  • Education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties
