Job Description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

A Computer Operator analyzes existing or proposed systems, designs data processing programs and related procedures to process data, and uses a multi-step process (i.e.., system investigation, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance) to bring new or changed systems to meet customer's requirements.

Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:

  • Comply with computer operation policy, standards, and procedures
  • Ensure general guidelines and technical standards are being met
  • Interpret program requirements, audit auxiliary peripheral units to ascertain correctness of input data, and check condition and arrangement of tapes
  • Coordinate inputs/data in support of meeting contractual requirements
  • Compile programs for programmers
  • Organize computer input and output of data
  • Investigate and locate source of non-standard irregularities
  • Analyze and recover program operations in complex error situations
  • Provide support to investigate and troubleshoot problems in operational hardware and software and develop solutions for issues discovered
  • Write minor operational programs
  • Provide technical support to computer users and organize sequence of events in computer operation cycle
  • Provide general maintenance and installation support of computer equipment
  • Establish and maintain a filing system of databases for tracking and inventory of database information
  • Provide direct customer interface to identify and support database requirements
  • Design modifications to current interface to identify and support database requirements
  • Develop, process, and submit data reports for technical presentations and meetings
  • Provide work direction to subordinate work unit personnel
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required


REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Computer Operator IV:

Vocational/technical or military equivalent training beyond high school and a minimum of seven years of job-related experience are required for this position.

Computer Operator III:

Vocational/technical or military equivalent training beyond high school and a minimum of five years of job-related experience are required for this position.

Computer Operator II:

Vocational/technical or military equivalent training beyond high school and a minimum of three years of job-related experience are required for this position.

In addition, a Computer Operator must possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Good planning/organizational skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
