Acentra seeks a Psychiatrist PRN to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

  • Provides the principal leadership and clinical expertise to operations on all medical aspects relating to the peer review process, utilization review activities, case management, and other activities requiring clinical leadership and consultation.
  • Additional key responsibilities may include assisting and promoting business development and strategic planning activities.

** This is a Remote based position. The selected candidate must reside and work in the United States. **

** Work Hours: This is a PRN role, with most of the work required Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern. At times, some work may be available on Evenings or Weekends.

** The selected candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States, now or in the future, without the need for employer visa sponsorship. **

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review trends, experiences, and approaches in medical information.
  • Assist in developing strategic plans for clinical improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Analyze and stay current on national, state, and local regulations and legislation that impact the healthcare profession.
  • Evaluate, redirect, and/or respond to inquiries from physicians, providers, and customers. Consult with general and/or specialty practitioners regularly and as necessary as business needs require.
  • Foster appropriate external relationships with attending physicians/ surgeons/behavioral health providers by response to telephone calls and letters.
  • Analyze and remain current on national, state, and local regulations and legislation that impact the healthcare profession.
  • Review pediatric medical literature, information trends, experiences, and approaches, and assist in the development of strategic plans for clinical improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in activities specific to contractual arrangements, e.g., Fair Hearings and Appeals.
  • Provide medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and policies to improve medical management.
  • Conducts peer-to-peer physician consultations as requested/required and documents consultations.
  • Work with medical, nursing, and administrative staff to identify matters needing shared attention.
  • Discuss, inform, and facilitate communication and interaction between staff with customers.
  • Provide and review for medical necessity for services such as Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTF), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Mental Health (including Psychiatry).
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and utilization review.
  • Contemporary clinician who understands major trends in healthcare and managed care.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diversity of personalities. Must be approachable, show respect for others, and build consensus.
  • A systems thinker with strong organizational skills who can pull all the pieces together and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Adaptable with a strong collaborative management style, a creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player who promotes the concepts of people working together.
  • Able to adapt to frequently changing work parameters.

Requirements

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Psychiatrist with a current non-restricted license to practice in the State of North Dakota or able to obtain licensure in the State of North Dakota.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in Utilization Management with knowledge of Medicaid.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and Internet/web navigation.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • 10+ years of clinical practice.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Director in a managed care company.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is $125.00 hourly.

Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicants placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
