POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Associate Director with running the day-to-day operations of the HR department including talent acquisition, compliance, onboarding, and learning and development. You will be responsible for running recruiting operations, crafting job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and collaborating with hiring managers to pinpoint top talent for our R&D and Clinical Development teams. This is an onsite role based in our South San Francisco office, 5 days a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the recruitment process lifecycle, including initial assessments, interviews, communications, and background and reference checks, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout.
  • Support the manager to develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to create a strong pipeline of diverse and qualified candidates.
  • Source and screen candidates through various channels (ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter), conducting thorough interviews and assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Partner and collaborate with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and team dynamics, ensuring job descriptions and position requirements are aligned with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants, employees, and supervisors related to HR policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; escalating more complex questions to the Associate Director or management.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Administers the employee recognition and milestone anniversary program.
  • Support the onboarding process and conduct onboarding orientation.
  • Ensure compliance with all HR-related legal and regulatory standards, keeping abreast of changes to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support on the administration of the learning management system, coordinating training assignments for new hires, collaborating with teams to design and deliver targeted trainings, mandatory and non-mandatory trainings, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Assist in developing employee communications related to HR processes (performance evaluations, training deadlines, open enrollment, etc.).
  • Organize and collaborate with Operations team to execute office events related to the employee lifecycle and company culture.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR and Operations department when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • SRHM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification preferred.
Experience:
  • 2+ years of HR or Recruiting experience required.
  • Prior experience in biotech or related scientific industry preferred.
Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Proficiency with HR technology, and ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
Equipment To Be Used:Laptop computer, other office equipment, and/or lab equipment.
Typical Physical Demands:Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Working Conditions:Works in a typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range:$65,000 - $80,000
