The Virginia Beach Field House is Virginia's premier indoor sports facility. With over 175,000 square feet, we offer leagues, camps, clinics, and tournaments for youth and adults in soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, arena (indoor) baseball and softball, field hockey, lacrosse, dodge ball, sand volleyball, sand flag football, sand soccer and other social sports. We also host birthday and team parties, corporate events, and other organized activities. The Virginia Beach Field House has 6 turf fields, 8 regulation volleyball courts, 4 basketball courts, 8 sand volleyball courts, 2 sand fields, multiple party rooms, an arcade, and an indoor Fun Zone. Guests are encouraged to visit our fully stocked food court and lounge. In addition, we proudly carry several beers on tap and by the bottle for those patrons over 21 years of age who enjoy adult beverages. We have full locker rooms with day lockers and showers. For entertainment we have over 40 flat screen TV's throughout the building, and four 110' giant screen TV's in our lounge. For the best indoor sports - TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!
The Virginia Beach Field House (VBFH) is currently looking for Front Desk staff. The Front Desk staff provides the first point of contact for all guests at the VBFH. The staff is member is expected to provide excellent guest service to all guests and to always display great knowledge of VBFH programs. This part-time position reports directly to the Guest Services Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests and provide answers and directions as needed
Provide courteous and friendly guest service to all VBFH guests
Register guests for leagues, camps, clinics, drop-ins, etc.
Be knowledgeable of all VBFH prices, leagues, and events
Process payments accurately and efficiently
Maintain an accurate drawer count at the beginning and end of each shift
Drop an accurate shift report at the end of each shift
Operate multi-line phones
Fill out incident and accident reports and submit to proper Manager (Manager on Duty/Human Resources)
Record and file waivers and birthday party sheets
Maintain confidentiality with guest and employee information
Resolve all guest concerns and complaints and/or direct to appropriate Manager
Know and enforce VBFH policies and procedures
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be extremely professional in appearance, demeanor, and communication
Must have strong leadership skills
Must have excellent guest service skills
Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Must be able to handle difficult and stressful situations
Able to multi-task and prioritize
Must be able to work well in a group setting
Able to remain calm and focused in emergency situations
Must be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Guest Services Director and/or the General Manager

Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Upon hire and training, the individual must be able to successfully utilize the facility Member/Guest registration software and Timeclock software.
