Position Overview

Kiewit's Schedule Managers play a key role in the development of company standards and scheduling techniques. This hands-on role gives you the opportunity to directly impact scheduling capabilities over a broad range of projects in various stages of development. By analyzing and monitoring the project s critical path, you ll prepare reports, develop alternative solutions, and drive successful project completion.


District Overview

Kiewit s Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren t afraid to get their hands dirty!


Location

As a Scheduling Manager, you will be based out of Vancouver, Washington. Occasional travel to project and or surrounding office locations will be required.


Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast including Alaska and Hawaii.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
  • Prepare schedule narratives that will explain the plan for construction, show how the schedule meets contract requirements, summarize the critical path, report writing, and discuss potential problems.
  • Candidates will be required to develop a Time Impact Analysis and TIA reports.
  • Development of excel models to analyze project schedule and cost data,
  • Will utilize MS Visio to develop process flow diagrams.
  • Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.
  • Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources.
  • Assess the impact(s) of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates.
  • Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
  • Provide guidance, direction and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.


Qualifications

  • At least 6 years construction scheduling experience, including three years of proven leadership experience directing scheduling functions on large complex projects.
  • Minimum 3 years experience developing schedule narratives.
  • Minimum 4 years experience developing Time Impact Analysis Reports
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units
  • Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)
  • Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel, Primavera, and other company-specific software
  • Bachelor s degree in construction management, engineering, or technical training and related experience
