Position Summary

SeamonWhiteside is in search of a Construction Administration Assistant that will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks supporting the Civil Engineering, Construction Administration, Surveying and Landscape Architecture teams for our Mount Pleasant and Summerville offices. The Construction Administration Assistant will manage project close out, prepare agency applications, compile agency submittals, track status of agency submittals, and assist in daily organization of permitting and entitlement efforts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare permit applications and complete related forms for local governments and jurisdictions, governing agencies or any other relevant entities
  • Compile agency submittals, submit online applications, and make deliveries to the local governments, governing agencies or and other relevant entities
  • Organize project permit files and associated electronic recordkeeping
  • Effectively track and complete all permitting related work including new permit applications and permit renewals
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local municipalities and governing agencies
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on matters related to local municipal and agency permitting processes and requirements
  • Effectively track and communicate policy changes to team members
  • Act as the point of contact for appropriate internal stakeholders about requirements and regulations of government entities and municipalities to assist with compliance and effectively communicate status of permits
  • Administrative tasks necessary to support Construction Administration, Surveying, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Architecture teams
  • Local travel required


Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma
  • Experience: 2+ years' experience administration support required, 2+ years' experience acquiring land use permits and experience with the preparation of permit applications and related entitlement documents preferred

Desired Skills
  • Understanding of the A/E/C Industry; experience in agency permitting is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) Adobe Acrobat required, Bluebeam is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with local governmental agencies, municipalities, and jurisdictions
  • Experience in using office equipment (printing and plotting machines)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently as well as within a team; thrives in an ever-changing, fast paced environment
  • High degree of accuracy with an attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality on behalf of our clients
  • A valid driver's license

Working Environment
  • General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels

  • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel
