This role is remote, but we need all candidates to live in the Bay Area, as there is local travel required.

Position Overview

The Bay Area Sales Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and growing sales for multiple restaurant locations in their region, while maintaining relationships with existing clients. This position reports into Marketing and is responsible for working with the Director of Operations, management and catering teams at each store on our Mendo Best Practices for sales building and catering.

Position Description

Build & Retain Sales

  • Partner on an ongoing basis with the General Managers and Directors of Operations to drive sales to each store, with particular focus on NSOs and focus stores. Sales building tactics include:
  • Catering lead generation
  • Identification of store s key target clients
  • Sample caterings
  • Office hero
  • Maintaining relationships with existing catering clients
  • Knowledgeable about each store s top 20 catering clients
  • Developing automated CRM communication
  • Neighborhood Marketing Playbook
  • Give Backs
  • Program ideation & amplification
  • Relationship building with schools and proactive outreach
  • Execution and coordination with stores
  • Events
  • Sponsorships
  • Help to lead new initiatives aimed at driving sales by meeting the needs of catering clients
  • Farmstand and other distribution partnerships to offices
  • Bulk stored value at a discount
  • Other new initiatives
  • Key participant in helping drive sales & awareness for any NSOs (New Store Openings) in the region
  • Aligns with Ops & Marketing stakeholders on GO sales, ramp goals, and pre-opening sales & marketing activities
  • Partners with NSO Marketing Manager on identifying key targets for Sample Caterings & invites for training events
  • Executes sample caterings and/or office/residential food drops
  • Stream teaming strategy & execution
  • Attends training and Grand Opening events to build relationships
  • Meetings & Reporting
  • Participate in weekly catering calls with all ASMs and Catering Teams to discuss upcoming initiatives, promotions, and areas of focus
  • Participate in bi-weekly Sales Building calls with Ops, Ops Services, and Marketing
  • Creates weekly reporting outlines sales activities and results driven
  • Reviews all stores in region on a quarterly basis with other key stakeholders to determine Focus Stores for the upcoming quarter

Monitor Sales & Trends Within Market

  • Understands the overall region s fast casual market, competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, and how to sell against them
  • Participates in networking opportunities with others in the region (admins, restaurant operators/salespeople, etc.)
  • Stays up to date on local trends and needs as they arise and creatively thinks through solutions to new challenges
  • Monitors guest reviews through Yext, looks for trends per store and reviews with DO for improvement

Being the Local Brand Ambassador

  • Serve as Key Connecter within the region (for both marketing & guests)
  • Main contact for property managers and centers
  • Owner of store database / Rolodex
  • Vet local events and marketing opportunities
  • Contribute localized content for Mendo s social channels (Instagram and Facebook)

Leadership, Coaching, & Partnership

  • Partners with Operations (VP of Ops, DOs, Ops Services, etc.) to attract, develop and retain the right team members to maintain the Mendocino Farms Best in Class Catering Standards
  • Partner with the Director of Sales & Engagement to execute marketing campaigns & promotions at the regional level
  • Directs, leads, and coaches the Catering Team using sales initiatives and Best in Class Standards to achieve individual and team sales goals

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Travel is required, must have a valid driver s license and reliable transportation
  • Proven ability to develop, nurture, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Must be organized, and possess a strong sense of urgency and professional demeanor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Google Suite
  • Candidates must live within the region they support and must have the ability to work remotely
