The department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Assistant to work at UHealth. The Research Assistant/Psychometrist will work as part of a team to initiate and conduct research studies in the most optimal fashion. Ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPPA and required obligations to research participants, Principal Investigator, research team and the sponsor. The Research Assistant/Psychometrist will directly interface with research participants, research team, and the Principal Investigator in support of the clinical research studies.

* Work closely with the Director as part of an interprofessional, transdisciplinary team to provide an outstanding, comprehensive research experience.

* Conduct rating scales and neuropsychological testing for clinical research studies.

* Assist in recruitment of research participants.

* Assist in the screening of potential research participants for eligibility to the study.

* Referral, advertisement and directly scheduling a visit to evaluate the research participants.

* Assists with the informed consent process and ensure that research participants fully understand what is required of them throughout the study.

* Creates and maintains participant charts and helps coordinate participant appointments.

* Collects, organizes, and maintains source documentation.

* Interacts with research participants, faculty, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.

* Performs other work-related duties and complete projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Preferred experience and training in psychology, biological sciences, cognitive neuroscience, social work, sociology, medicine, public health, or neuroscience. Previous experience in conducting neuropsychological testing or rating scales in NIH or industry-sponsored clinical research is recommended.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Demonstrated ability to perform high quality data entry and administrative tasks.

* Fluency in Spanish is recommended as studies recruit diverse populations.

* Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Excel) and the ability to perform basic statistical analyses (descriptive statistics).

* Excellent organizational skills/attention to detail, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines.

* Knowledge of research principles, techniques and practices and their application to clinical research.

* Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

* Experience in working with elderly population is recommended.

* Excellent interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills.

* Must be able to work and make decisions independently.
