ABOUT THE ROLE:
Holcim Us, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Paving Foreman to support the operations in the Asphalt division. This position will be responsible for Monitoring, directing and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure projects progresses are on schedule and within prescribed budget. Coordinates and collaborates with Project Manager, other Superintendent's, other Project Managers, General Contractors and the customer to implement successful project plans. Also scheduling, coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of the asphalt crew
* Complete all jobs assigned within the scope of work.
* Acts as the liaison for suppliers of materials
* Executing paving procedures while following instructions to meet the standards of the project
* Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
* Set up, order material, and execute the job to specifications and cost budgets
* Conducting daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe operation
* Report man-hour and major material use on daily time sheet
* Scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.
* In-depth knowledge of road construction and heavy equipment
* Correctly calculate and order job materials when necessary
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
* Minium 5 yrs expereince
* Someone who can lead by example and ensure that all your team members live by Holcim's core values
* Ability to lead team members in actual construction as required by the project manager
* Excellent communication skills to convey information to others effectively.
* Ability to successfully organize, plan and prioritize work
* Ability to keeps accurate records of all expenses incurred in the process of ceash job.
* Ability To enter and exist heavy machinery while maintaining three points of contact, awareness of surroundings and multi-limb coordination
* Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (over 50 lbs.)
* Must maintain constant alertness to to help ensure construction site safety
* Reliable transportation
* Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
* Computer and Software Skills:Basic computer skills
* Ability to follow Traffic Control instructions and practice safety standards per Company Safety Policy requirements
* Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations
* Must have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and repair of buildings or other structures

* Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
