Job Details

Under the general direction of the Building HVAC Systems Manager, contributes to the strategic vision and planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of building automation systems (BAS) that support, enhance and ensure effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment, building controls and utilities for the Wexner Medical Center. Acts as the principle resource for building automation operational oversight and its operation of mechanical and HVAC systems and components; assesses and resolves issues with controls, and building automation; writes and installs programs that resolve HVAC related issues; manages equipment commissioning process; develops and monitors energy saving processes; and sustains the optimal operation of the various HVAC systems throughout the health system. Serves as the primary contributor and consultant for building automation systems across 6+ million square foot of acute care, ambulatory, clinical, business, academic, and laboratory healthcare space both on and off campus. Manages assigned operations and capital projects. Provides direction and oversight related to building automation and controls issues. Consults on major initiatives and projects that integrate BAS systems across multiple departments, service lines, networks, platforms, and administrative interfaces. Analyzes, tests, and implements complex BAS solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert on BAS strategies, procedures, policies and methodologies. Provides direction and insight to leaders, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic BAS requirements with evolving business opportunities and needs. May respond to emergency situations, such as mechanical system outages, and may assist with evaluation of and correction of problems.

Required Qualifications Two years of college or technical school resulting in an associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related engineering experience and four years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and testing HVAC controls systems and equipment or a Bachelors Degree in related field and two years of experience troubleshooting, repairing and testing HVAC controls systems equipment; knowledge of BACnet systems to include: complex building HVAC system applications and engineering, LANs commands/configurations, alarming, scheduling, proprietary interfaces, integration and system management, PC operation and workstation software; network training and/or experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting
