About the Opportunity

Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers toughest questions as a Fiber Assembler Technician to work in our Orlando, FL manufacturing facility. Top applicants will be dedicated, detail-oriented and hard working. The proper polishing of our SMA connectors is essential to the operations and use of the fiber optic connectors in our product.

About the Candidate

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read Fiber schematics and build Fibers to specification
  • Position requires technician to pull material per specification, Fiber, Jacket, Connector etc necessary to build fiber
  • Attention to detail, follow schematics specification to build correct product
  • Ability use fine dexterity hands and fingers
  • Ability to use small hand tools

  • Notify team leader or supervisor of any problems that may be causing a delay in production schedule or possible quality defects
  • Maintain, read, and understand technical documentation (SOPs and work instructions)
  • Make continuity and quality checks on work in process and completed fiber prior to turning work in
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Use of a microscope to inspect fiber and connectors for defects such as scratches, cracks, and to verify light passage
  • Proper use of dial indicator for verifying connector tolerance
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Ability to listen and execute
  • Self-starter


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to work alone and/or in groups
  • Ability to learn new skills in a timely manner, interpret visual aids and work overtime when needed
  • Experience polishing and terminating fiber-optic connections is a plus
  • Proficient with fiber optic cable, various connectors, testing, documentation
  • Familiar with polishers, gauges, lapping paper, torques, alcohols and acetones is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber, effectively and efficiently
  • Good hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills performing repetitive motions
  • Be capable of measuring to small tolerances 1 to 20 millimeters
  • Good English reading comprehension
