Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to work Transfusion Services.

Sign on bonus $20,000 for qualified candidates!

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Science OR Associates degree in medical technology
  • ASCP or AMT certification; or be eligible for certification
  • Transfusion experience preferred

Job Summary

Performs laboratory tests; interprets results; documents and reports results. Maintains department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution. ASCP or AMT certification required. Certification eligible applicants with American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) may be considered with proof of eligibility prior to date of employment. Certification for eligible employees shall be acquired within one year from date of hire. Certification must remain current for continued employment.
