About Woodland Job Corps Center

The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and hands-on training in the following areas: Electrical Wiring, Carpentry, Building Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Advanced Training - Culinary Arts, and Hotel & Lodging. We also assist students with job placement upon completing their educational and career technical training.

Serves as Acting Counseling/CPP Manager in Counseling/CPP Manager s absence.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring and Guidance: Provide one-on-one counseling to students, offering emotional support and guidance to help them overcome personal challenges and obstacles.

  • Career Development: Collaborate with students to identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations. Assist in developing personalized plans for academic and professional success.

  • Crisis Intervention: Be a reliable resource during times of crisis, offering immediate support and counseling to students facing personal or academic difficulties.

  • Advocacy: Act as an advocate for students, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed within the Woodland Job Corps community. Collaborate with other staff members to create a comprehensive support system.

  • Group Workshops: Conduct group workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, communication skills, and other relevant subjects that contribute to personal and professional development.

  • Resource Coordination: Connect students with external resources and services to enhance their overall well-being, including mental health services, community support, and other relevant programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) from an accredited school required. A minimum of one year experience in counseling or related field. Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience. Must possess a valid in-State Driver s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
