Job Summary

The Sonographer is responsible to provide cardiac ultrasound scans as directed by physician. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience
  • Graduate of an A.M.A. cardiovascular technology school and RDCS/RCS registry required. One year of experience preferred. Must have a working knowledge of cardiac and vascular pathology.
  • 6 months to 1 year experience
  • Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience:

    Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • RDCS/RCS required within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification or completion upon next available program.
    Work Schedule
  • Day Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday
  • Weekend Rotation: Typically one weekend/month
  • Holiday Rotation: Approximately every 3rd
  • 72 hours per 2 weeks
  • Sign on Bonus $10,000

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
  • $30.25-45.75 per hour
