Summary

The computer lab monitor must maintain vigilance at all times for the safety and well being of students and facilities. The computer lab monior will telephone the Public Safety Department in the event of emergencies or any questionable activities or individuals. The computer lab monitor will also notify the Public Safety Department when any unlocked studios are found unoccuppied. The computer lab monitor will provide students enrolled in courses meeting in Adrian 216,217 and 218, primarily with courses in Graphic Design and Photography, with technical assistance with software and printing in relation to their project, but will not be evaluators or judges of the content of the student projects.
Essential Functions

  • Maintain vigilance at all times for the safety and well being of students and facilities.
  • Responsible to open doors of ADR 216, 217 and 218 for students enrolled in those classes and lock up at the end of the lab hours.
  • Notify Public Safety when any unlocked areas are found unoccupied.
  • Help maintain the facilities and keep printers operational.
  • Provide students with technical assistance with their projects.
  • Enforce all lab policies and report any problems to Faculty or Lab Technicians.
  • Encourage and assist in keeping the facilities clean and orderly.
  • Conserve resources by turning off lights, water, equipment, etc. when not needed.
  • Notify Faculty of supply shortages such as ink cartridges and paper.
  • Enforce student sign-in and sign-out policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must be a current Barry University Student..
  • Must be an Fine Art or Photo major.
  • Must be able to follow instructions well.
  • Must be reliable and responsible.
  • Proficiency in large format color, black and white printing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.


Work Environment may includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places exposure to chemicals.
